Job Description

An Assistant Manager at Axis Bank plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the branch, supporting the Branch Manager in a variety of areas. This position requires a blend of operational oversight, customer service, and team management to ensure the branch meets its objectives. The key responsibilities of an Assistant Manager at Axis Bank include:
  • Branch Operations: Assisting the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the branch, ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with banking regulations. This includes overseeing the smooth functioning of branch activities, ensuring adherence to operational policies, managing cash flow, and handling any operational challenges that arise.
  • Staff Management: Managing and guiding the branch staff to meet performance targets and maintain high levels of productivity. The Assistant Manager is responsible for providing ongoing training, coaching, and support to staff members, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their duties and deliver exceptional customer service. This also involves conducting performance reviews, addressing staff concerns, and fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Customer Service: Handling customer queries, complaints, and requests in a timely and professional manner. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in ensuring that customers receive personalized and efficient service. This includes resolving complex issues, addressing customer feedback, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction, which is essential for maintaining long-term relationships and customer loyalty.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the Branch Manager to develop and implement sales strategies that align with the bank’s business goals. The Assistant Manager is involved in setting targets, analyzing market trends, and identifying opportunities for business growth. This role also includes driving sales initiatives, such as cross-selling and upselling banking products, and ensuring that the team meets or exceeds sales and performance targets.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensuring that the branch operates in compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. The Assistant Manager helps monitor the branch’s activities to identify potential risks and take appropriate actions to mitigate them. This includes ensuring proper documentation and reporting, as well as implementing policies to safeguard against financial and operational risks.
  • Financial Management: Assisting in the management of branch financial operations, including tracking branch cash levels, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing the day-to-day financial transactions. The Assistant Manager ensures that financial records are up-to-date, audits are conducted, and internal controls are followed.
  • Business Development: Identifying new business opportunities, establishing relationships with potential clients, and contributing to the growth of the branch. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in attracting new customers, promoting the bank's products and services, and expanding the branch's market share through effective business development strategies.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of branch activities, sales performance, and staff performance. The Assistant Manager is responsible for preparing reports for senior management, detailing the branch’s progress in meeting its goals, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing corrective measures where necessary.
  • Leadership and Motivation: Providing leadership and motivation to the branch team, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring that team members are engaged and aligned with the bank’s values. The Assistant Manager supports the Branch Manager in driving operational excellence and delivering results, while also focusing on staff development and morale.

Job Requirement

Qualification:
  • Graduates with aggregate of 50% and above in all semesters of Graduation.
  • Candidates in the Final Year of their Graduation/Post Graduation who have appeared for their examination & are awaiting results are also eligible for the program. However, Original Final Year mark sheet & degree certificate will have to be submitted on joining the academy.
  • Graduation Degree (10+2+3 patterns ) is compulsory
You would NOT be eligible for this program if:
  • You have a relative working at Axis Bank in accordance to the relative hiring policy of the Bank. Moreover, if two relatives get selected for the program, candidate with lower assessment score will have to withdraw their application
  • You have been subjected to any disciplinary proceedings by your previous employer(s) at any time
  • You have ever been proceeded against or convicted under any criminal statutes or in a consumer forum
  • Any legal action is pending or proposed to be initiated against you
  • You are not eligible if your age is more than 35 years
